CARIBBEAN MOVIE SHOWING IN ANTIGUA

In just a few days Antigua will be dazzled by an intriguing Caribbean film featuring a glamourous MTV host and an all Caribbean cast and crew.

MTV Tempo Host Jeanille Bonterre stars as an entertainer and a love interest in the film Hit For Six! which begins showing on September 21. The movie of love, scandal and desire was written and directed by Barbadian-based Alison Saunders-Franklyn and produced by Blue Waters Productions.

Bonterre's role won her the Best Actress award in this year's Bridgetown Film Festival and renowned Jamaican photographer, Richard Lannaman, won Best Cinematographer for his role as Director of Photography. Hit For Six! won a third award in the Bridgetown Film Festival - Best Barbadian Film.

The movie was launched in Barbados during a red carpet premiere on April 18 and since then traveled to the shores of Jamaica. After the Antigua showing, the film will fly off to Trinidad, St. Lucia and St. Vincent. Cricket legends, government ministers and entertainers including Eddie Grant arrived in style for the Barbados premiere and the movie ran for five weeks when it was released at Olympus Theatres. In Jamaica, the premiere was hosted as a fund-raiser ahead of the public release on July 11 in five cinemas in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Club President and celebrated former West Indies cricket team captain, Ambassador Courtney Walsh, welcomed the guests and gave his endorsement.

Trevor Rhone, celebrated writer of the legendary Caribbean film The Harder They Come, described Hit For Six! as "an entertaining film with really memorable moments and engaging performances."

The lead actor of Hit For Six! is Barbadian Andrew Pilgrim. Canadian-based, Barbadian actress Alison Sealy-Smith stars as his mother while British-based, Trinidadian-born actor Rudolph Walker stars as his father. Barbadian actress Varia Williams plays the second love interest.
